Ke Huy Quan Wins Best Supporting Actor at the 2023 Oscars: "This Is the American Dream!"
After an extremely strong awards season, Ke Huy Quan took home the Oscar tonight for Best Supporting Actor. Quan won for his role as Weymond Wang in Everything Everywhere All at Once, the husband of Michelle Yeoh's Evelyn. As Ariana DeBose announced his name, she teared up.
A very emotional Quan took the stage, to a standing ovation from the audience. Michelle Yeoh was spotted dabbing away her tears.
"Stories like this only happen in the movies," Quan said, while crying. "I cannot believe it's happening to me!"
The 51-year-old Vietnamese-American actor took a long break from acting after starring in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and The Goonies as a child actor. It wasn't an intentional break: He couldn't find roles, so started working in stunts instead.
