Kaukauna Public Library hosts ‘Touch a Truck’ event for local families
KAUKAUNA, Wis. (WFRV) – The Kaukauna Public Library hosted an interactive event for residents interested in learning about a variety of vehicles and meeting with the community members who operate them.
The “Touch a Truck” event took place from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday morning at Hydro Park. The family-friendly event was free, with an array of vehicles available to see.
The vehicles varied from emergency response units to construction machinery. People of all ages got to explore the vehicles and meet people who drive them, learning about the people who help the community every day.
Kaukauna Public Library Youth Services Librarian Sarah Wroblewski said “It’s a way for them (children) to feel more comfortable if they were to see some emergency personnel.”
Volunteers from the local 4H also brought a variety of animals for a petting zoo.
