Katie Holmes Looked Incredible in a Black Dress and Sheer Tights in New York City
Katie Holmes has really elevated her style game in the weeks since her breakup with longterm boyfriend Jamie Foxx was reported. Last night, the actress was out in New York City for Nordstrom's opening party. She looked fantastic in a long-sleeved black mini dress that she paired with sheer black polka dot tights and a red lip.
Holmes went to two events last night: Nordstrom's party and the La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club 2019 Gala.
This isn't Holmes only outfit that has gotten attention. The actress's wardrobe throughout fashion week in September included some of her best outfits of the year. Holmes wore a monochromatic royal blue suit:
A red print skirt and blouse while sitting front row at Fendi in Milan:
And a chambray top with leather leggings and a white sweater at Elie Tahari's New York City show:
Holmes' split from Jamie Foxx was first reported at the end of August, although they actually separated in May. People, Us Weekly, and Entertainment Tonight each got quotes from sources at the time, explaining what led to Holmes ending things with Foxx after six years of dating.
“It has been many years of him stepping out with other women,” Us' source said. “He’s disrespectful, and their lives were different. His partying ways don’t fit with hers as she’s focused on raising her daughter [Suri Cruise] and working.”
Entertainment Tonight's source said distance was a factor: Holmes is based in New York City, and Foxx lives in LA. "They never had a typical relationship," the source said. "They have always been incredibly independent, and their lives didn't revolve around each other. They lived separately and in different cities and saw each other occasionally."
People's source painted a much more neutral picture of the situation. “It ran its course," a source said. "This industry is very tough on relationships. Jamie thinks Katie is an incredible human being. They had a very, very deep connection. They brought each other a lot of joy and laughter.”
