Kate Middleton Wore a Military-Inspired Coat to Commemorate Remembrance Sunday
This week, the royal family is commemorating those who have died while serving their country with a series of poignant events. And today, nearly every working royal is attending the annual Remembrance Day Service at the Cenotaph in London.
For the somber occasion, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a black coat embellished with military-inspired detailing, which she paired with drop pearl earrings, a hat with a veil, and a crimson poppy pin, a symbol of remembrance.
The brooch appears to be the same one she wore on Thursday to the launch of the National Emergencies Trust, a new independent charity which will provide emergency services during disasters in the U.K.
If it is that particular pin, the design is specifically dedicated to those women who served during WWI.
This morning, Kate joined the Queen and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall on the Balcony of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. From that vantage point, the trio of royal women watched as several wreaths were laid at the Cenotaph, including one by Prince Charles laid on his mother's behalf. It is the third year in a row that the Prince of Wales has performed this duty for the British monarch.
The public has been seeing quite a bit of Kate recently. In addition her appearance earlier this week with Prince William, last night Kate attended the annual Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall, alongside most working members of the royal family, including the Queen, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and many others. Tomorrow, she and Prince William will both attend the Royal Variety Performance.
