Kate Middleton, Prince William and Their Kids Baked for a Good Cause

Prince William and Kate Middleton, like the rest of the senior royals, have had to find new ways to carry out their duties amid the COVID-19 pandemic—duties which usually center around in-person appearances and greeting large crowds. But while the current crisis has prevented them from carrying out business as usual, it's also provided a unique opportunity for them to find new ways to connect with the public. Such is the case with their recent work in support of the Poppy Appeal, the annual fundraising effort for the U.K. Armed Forces' community.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got the whole family involved in the project, enlisting Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis to help them bake poppy cupcakes, which were then delivered to the Royal British Legion's Norfolk care home. The Royal British Legion shared a photo of their home-baked goods, writing on Twitter, "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their family have shown their support for our #PoppyAppeal this year by baking these delicious poppy cakes which were delivered to our care home in Norfolk."

The family effort recalls a project the Cambridges undertook earlier this year, when the U.K. was in full lockdown. The royals always release new photos, usually taken by amateur photographer Kate, to mark their children's birthdays, but this time they showed something special: Charlotte delivering food to isolated pensioners near the family's Norfolk home, on the Sandringham estate.

If the Duke and Duchess doing more work from home means more involvement from the Cambridge kids, royal watchers certainly won't mind.
