Kate Middleton Has a Genius Hack to Keep Her Shoes From Slipping
Kate Middleton has always been celebrated for her chic, smart, and stylish dressing. But looking as good as the Duchess of Cambridge takes meticulous planning and even some hacks to keep everything in place. One of her smartest tricks? Wearing tights with sticky pads on the bottom so her feet stay in her shoes at all times.
The Sun reports that Kate has been spotted wearing John Lewis tights that have built-in sticky pads to prevent slipping and sliding โ a problem we all can relate to. The stockings are only $7 and come in nude, black, and tan.
Kate has probably shared this hack with her sister-in-law Meghan Markle, as royal correspondent Victoria Arbiter previously told Business Insider that women in the royal family are often required to wear tights.
"You never see a royal without their nude stockings. Meghan, from what I can see from the engagement photographs, it doesn't look like she was wearing tights or stockings," Arbiter said. "I would say that's really the only hard, steadfast rule in terms of what the Queen requires."
Meghan Markle noticeably didn't wear tights during her official engagement photocall.
But, at her first public event as a royal after her wedding โ when she stepped out for Prince Charles' birthday celebration โ she was wearing light semi-transparent tights with her blush dress.
Royal women seem to be full of clever styling tricks. To keep their skirts from flying up, they tend to wear weighted fabrics or clothes that increase static to keep the apparel from moving, etiquette expert Myka Meier recently revealed. Plus, Meghan Markle reportedly wears shoes that are too big for her to avoid getting blisters after a long day of engagements. Genius.
