Kate Middleton's newborn son is the biggest royal baby to be born in over 100 years
Less than a day old, and Kate Middleton's third baby is already making history.
Kensington Palace announced on Monday morning that Prince William and Kate had welcomed their third royal baby -- a boy! -- at 11:01 am London time, weighing 8 pounds 7 ounces.
Per the Daily Mail, the birth weight of Will and Kate's second son makes him the heaviest royal baby to be born in over 100 years. In addition to being heavier than both of his siblings -- Prince George weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces at birth, while Charlotte weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces -- the unnamed newborn is also heavier than his grandfather Charles, father William and uncle Harry when they were born.

As the world celebrates the arrival of a new royal child, speculation is already mounting around the name that Will and Kate will choose. Arthur, Albert and Philip are considered to be frontrunners for their second son, who is now fifth in line for the throne behind Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. It's the first time in history that a female wasn't surpassed by a younger male in the succession.
