We just learned the first word in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” and now we need to know all the rest
On Friday, the cast of Star Wars: The Last Jedi appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and the host tried to get any information out the director. Rian Johnson obviously wasn’t going to give up any real details about the Daisy Ridley-led film to Jimmy. But, thanks to the late night show host’s prodding, we did get a little new Star Wars information. And when we say a little, we mean a little. Yep, Kimmel convinced Johnson to finally uncover one tiny thing when he asked about the script.
“What is the first word in the film?” he asked.
“This I can do,” Johnson replied. “The first word is ‘we’re.’”
We have the first word! Now all we need is the rest! How many more could there be, like a million? That one word has to give something away, right? Alright, or maybe it doesn’t. While the first word of the movie really doesn’t tell us anything about the story, we’ll still take what we can get. Especially since “we’re” is a contraction — so it’s technically two words.
Okay, we know we’re reaching here, but it’s hard to not get excited over any morsel of information about The Last Jedi. The movie is coming out in less than two weeks, and we can hardly contain ourselves! People have over analyzed every moment of every clip, teaser, and trailer, so it’s no surprise that people are glad about getting one word from the movie.
Give us all of the Star Wars information now, please!
We almost don’t care if they’re spoilers. We need something! The fact that Jimmy Kimmel managed to squeeze at least that bit of insider info out of the director is honestly astonishing. Now we just need to figure out who says the first word.
It’s going to be a long two weeks waiting to see The Last Jedi. Wake us up when it’s December 15th. And is it too early to wait at the movie theater? Asking for a friend.
