Joseph Baena Just Recreated His Dad’s Most Iconic Bodybuilding Pose
Arnold Schwarzenegger's son, Joseph Baena, is a regular at Gold's Gym in Venice Beach, and often posts workout videos and progress pics to social media to show off his gains. But with gyms all over the country closed down due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Baena has taken to working out at home like the rest of us.
He's making the most of things, however, by working on his bodybuilder poses — and he just shared his latest efforts. "Perfect time to practice some posing!" He wrote on Instagram, in the caption of the balcony tableau which pays homage to the poses that his famous dad used to strike during his professional bodybuilding career back in the 1970s.

It's not the first time Baena has recreated one of Schwarzenegger's bodybuilder poses, and let's be honest, there are plenty to choose from. The Austrian Oak was a star of the bodybuilding world, winning Mr. Olympia seven times (six times in a row and then one more time in 1980) and Mr. Universe three times before turning his attention to acting, and then later politics.
Schwarzenegger perfected this specific flex over several years, performing it on stage at bodybuilding events and in a 1974 issue of Sports Illustrated.
While his pro bodybuilding days might be behind him, Schwarzenegger still hits the gym regularly, and works out with his son all the time. In fact, according to Baena, he is the "best training partner in the world."
