Jonathan Anderson Shows an Artsy-Intellectual Loewe Collection for Spring
Jonathan Anderson loosened up this season. Staging his show in the landmark United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization heritage building in Paris, the scene was artsy-intellectual and Anderson's spring 2019 collection matched that. Fabrics like silk and leather and straw mixed across languid tunics and culottes as colors would blend across a painting. Fitting since the show took place in what was essentially a simulated exhibition. This created a relaxed collection that when styled up felt a bit complicated, but when broken down could fit in everyday lives. Khaki trousers and shirts would fit right in at the office, while those major feather earrings could be a go-to accessory for night. And since Anderson is known for turning out a good bag, he showed various options-for running errands, lounging on the beach, carrying heaps of files-in signature leathers and raffias.
Get in, we're going to the museum.
