Kevin Costner Shared a Beautiful Tribute to Kelly Preston on Instagram
Many are now mourning after John Travolta announced on Instagram early Monday morning that his wife, Kelly Preston, had died at 57 years old.
A statement released from the family to People confirmed that the actress had been fighting breast cancer for two years privately and "undergoing medical treatment for some time."
Kelly is survived by John and their 20-year-old daughter, Ella, and 9-year-old son, Benjamin (their son Jett died in 2009).
"It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many," John wrote on his Instagram page. "My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side."

John's statement continued: "Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while. But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal. All my love, JT."
In reaction to the news, countless celebrities penned supportive words to John and his family online. Kevin Costner, who played her love interest in For the Love of the Game, reflected that "we've lost a beautiful soul."

Russell Crowe recalled a moment on Twitter when he and Kelly auditioned for Breaking Up in 1995, noting that she was a "sparkly eyed gem."
Kelly Preston.
Can’t remember where, but, met first in late ‘92 I think.
Such a lovely person. In 1995 we auditioned together for Breaking Up, Salma Hayek got that gig.
I havent seen her much, but when I did, she was always the same sparkly eyed gem.
Love to her family.
