John John Florence Commits to Helping Maui Via Hawai'i Community Foundation
The people of Maui are strong.
As we've reported, residents continue to find strength to endure the tragic aftermath of the wildfires that ravaged the island and destroyed Lahaina. While people worldwide are donating money and goods, there have been questions about which organizations are legitimate and reliable.
John John Florence announced today that he will to contribute Hawaii Community Foundation, a trusted statewide organization that is dedicated to "strengthening Hawaii's communities."
The slides on the post above say:
"Maui's road to recovery in the aftermath of these fires will be long, and FLORENCE is committed to doing everything we can to help the community get back on their feet now and well into the future.
"Starting this week, we'll be donating a portion of sales to the Hawaii Community Foundation, which has emerged as the centralized effort to help those affected.
"In the following days, weeks & months, we'll be providing opportunities for the FLORENCE community to help us donate, and pointing out those doing great work on the ground.
"This is not the end. The tragedy is ongoing, and will take continued work as the situation evolves. More to come."
Please, help Maui if you can.
