Jodie Sweetin Shares Traumatic Story About the Day Her Daughter Was Born
In a startling new confession, the actress revealed she almost didn't survive the birth of her youngest daughter.
Jodie Sweetin revealed that the day her youngest daughter Beatrix Carlin was born, things didn't go nearly as planned.
Instead of the postpartum tears of joy she expected, the 40-year-old actress was forced to battle for her life and "almost didn't make it."
In a startling confession made on Instagram today, Sweetin shared some of the never-before-heard details from the day her now 12-year-old daughter–who she shares with ex-husband Morty Coyle–was born.
The conversation came about after Swedish supermodel and actress Paulina Porizkova left a note on Sweetin's most recent post; a heartfelt birthday message to Beatrix.
"Happy birthday to her and the beautiful mama who gave her life!," Porizkova commented.
Sweetin wrote back a short while later and said, in part: "thank you my friend… I had a pretty difficult time after I had Bea. Almost didn’t make it."
The actress said that she suffered from internal bleeding and was transferred to the intensive care unit where she needed to undergo multiple blood transfusions.
And despite living the nightmare of pregnant people everywhere, the actress remained focused on what really matters: both her and her daughter survived the scary times just fine.
Sweetin added: "It’s a day I’m so grateful for. I got an amazing little human and I’m still here to see her grow. ❤️❤️❤️"
