Joanna Gaines Shared a Teaser Video of Her Coffee Shop Before Its Grand Opening
With Magnolia Market at the Silos attracting thousands of visitors to Waco and foodies gathering around at Magnolia Table, Fixer Upper star Joanna Gaines is ready to enter the coffee shop space with Magnolia Press.
Since the initial announcement in early July, the project's been moving quickly and fans have caught a few sneak peeks of what's to come.
Here's everything you need to know about the new business.
When is Magnolia Press opening?
While working on a second cookbook, launching a new television network with husband Chip Gaines, and of course, being the mother to five children, Jo is also working on opening the doors to Magnolia Press.
At the beginning of October, the entrepreneur/designer/author shared an Instagram post of her and Chip pressing their hands into the wet cement outside of the shop, revealing that they were weeks away from opening.
What will Magnolia Press look like?
On October 15, Jo shared a quick tour of Magnolia Press on her Instagram Stories—two months after giving a quick glimpse of it in an August video showcasing Magnolia Market's fall display. (Jump ahead to minute 4:55 to hear her speak about pulling together an industrial-slash-cozy feel!)
Early design renderings showed a rich color palette, and now it's become a reality. The exterior of Magnolia Press is a deep green color contrasted by a glowing neon sign. Coffee drinkers can expect “library-style tables for community seating” and leather seats that remind Jo of “old, classic libraries” and by the looks of it, there's plenty of space for everyone.

Where is Magnolia Press located?
Magnolia Press is only one block down from the Silos, located at 418 S. Eighth St., and will include a full-service coffee bar, pastries, and teas, according to spokesman John Marsicano.
Throughout the process, fans have shared photos of the building as it's being constructed, providing glimpses into its modern design. And it's clear, the rendering of it was spot on. We can't wait to see Jo's signature home décor throughout the new establishment:
“Our dream for the Silos grounds has always been for it to be a place where people can relax and take a break from the demands of life,” she wrote in a blog post. “When we open in the fall, we hope you’ll stop in for a cup of coffee at Magnolia Press—and that it offers you a chance to slow down and take it all in.”
What was the inspiration behind Magnolia Press?
According to Jo, the idea for Magnolia Press was born more than a year ago. What began as an empty building quickly became a space “for guests to feel a sense of history and familiarity.”
“When we evaluated what we felt was missing from the overall experience and how we could use the old building next door, everyone on our team agreed a good corner coffee shop would make the perfect fit,” she wrote.
Jo also touched on the meaning behind Magnolia Press. “When our team brainstormed on the name, we kept coming back to this idea of a French press and the slower (but very rewarding) process of making a rich, good cup of coffee,” she explained.
