JJJJound’s New Balance 2002R Gore-Tex Sneakers Will Release Next Week
JJJJound and New Balance are partnering once again, this time hitting the 2002R Gore-Tex with two dark, two-tone colorways.
Both versions of the waterproof sneaker render the sole unit and mesh underlays in black. The suede overlays are where the 2002Rs differentiate, as one appears in grey and the other in pine green. JJJJound branding appears tonally on the black reflective mustache, as well as making another appearance on the insole, while a Gore-Tex tab hangs off the collar.

JJJJound’s last collaboration with New Balance also featured the 2002R, a model that’s been a major hit since its revival in 2020, as the sneaker took on a blue and grey color scheme intended to capture the look of overcast skies in October. That collaboration was more involved than usual for the Montreal-based creative studio, and JJJJound’s latest two-tone take on the 2002R is more representative of its trademark minimalism.
This capsule also marks the first release of the year for JJJJound, which had a busy 2023 through additional footwear collaborations that included Reebok, Crocs, Vans, Salomon, Blackstock & Weber and Roa. An Adidas Samba collaboration is also expected to arrive this year and could be one of JJJJound’s most hyped drops yet.
The JJJJound x New Balance 2002R Gore-Tex in “Charcoal” and “Pine” will release Feb. 15 through JJJJound’s website, followed Feb. 22 by an additional release through New Balance’s channels. Pricing for both sneakers is set at $190.
