Jessie James Decker shares behind-the-scenes story of 'thirst trap' bikini photo
Jessie James Decker is letting the world know about the power of sisterhood in a most relatable way.
The country singer-songwriter took a bit of time during her girls' trip in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, to share an uplifting message about friendship and the “badass” friends making the trip worthwhile.
“When you see this photo you may see thirst trap,” she began the caption, alongside a stunning photo of her in a bikini posing against a rock wall. “But what I see is 10 women behind it hyping it up in Cabo.”
Decker goes on to say that each of the girls “took turns taking sexy photos of each other on the beach for fun and it made me smile so much to see all of us girls cheering each other on!”
“‘Turn your hips this way, turn your neck that way, oh yes girl you look amazing that’s hot!’ That’s what’s its all about!” She added. “Women supporting women. Missing my Cabo crew today! So much fun and a lot of hot photos of bad ass girls!”
The post welcomed a slew of love and support from other women who shared her passion to uplift their friends:
“I see a strong, gorgeous, smart and successful momma,” wrote Nichole Holmes, host of Netflix’s Marriage or Mortgage.
“You’re so right!” added a fan. “You look amazing and beautiful! Having a loving encouraging crew makes it so much more fun and easy to let go!”
“Nothing better than the hype girl crew. What it’s all about!” one fan commented with another adding, “Yassssss honey. This pic is fire, but the story is GOLD.”
“I wanna be in your girl gang!! That’s how it’s done,” another chimed in.
Decker isn’t new to using her platform to empower and uplift people, especially when it comes to their body image. In August, the singer went after critics who body-shamed her after she posted a photo alongside her husband, Eric Decker, on the beach.
"It was hurtful," she responded at the time in reference to Reddit comments that mentioned how "fat" she had gotten and how "terrible" her body looked. "It was photos and videos right after our Italy Greece trip where I just wanted to live life and eat and drink wine and enjoy myself and yeah I gained happy lbs!! But it was like damn, really gonna point that out?"
She also made a plea to trolls to remember, "I'm a human being and your words hurt me."
Still, the mother of three isn’t fazed. Instead, she said she’s been able to channel the negativity into art, through the creation of her latest music video.
"[I] busted my butt in the gym anyway cause I had a music video shoot to get ready for after we came back. But the moral of the story for me is to not let what [people] say get to me anymore as long as you feel good and happy in your skin that's all that matters," her response continued. "But I will say it motivated me during my music video shoot and maybe the message of the song had a different meaning for me!"
In November, Decker posted a throwback pic from May, in which she's of rocking an orange bikini during a trip to Greece and proudly shows off her Cesarean-section scar.
“Cold weather making me miss the beach,” she captioned a pair of photos. “For those asking, this was from Greece in May. Not at the beach currently. Just missing it. And yes, rock the c-section scar. Loving the DMs.”
