Jessica Simpson Had The Perfect Response to An Instagram Comment About Her "Nip Slip"

Jessica Simpson recently learned that humor may be the the best way to fight against creepy, and semi-sexist Instagram comments.

The singer-turned-designer, who has faced an absurd amount of flak on her social media, whether it be for letting her 7-year-old daughter dye her hair, or for "not properly buckling her daughter into a car seat," fell victim to an Instagram troll yesterday after she posted a photo of herself with her younger daughter Birdie Mae.

The photo — which shows a makeup-free Simpson holding her 5-month-old daughter — seems innocent enough, and was largely flooded with compliments of how great the mother-of-three looks. But of course, that didn't stop hateful people on social media doing what they do best.

In a now deleted comment, the troll wrote "#thefappening #nipslip," Buzzfeed reported. The comment references the 2014 mass leak of stolen nude photos of celebrities, of which Simpson was not a part. But rather than taking a serious or aggressive approach to the wildly inappropriate comment, Simpson decided to use humor to respond to the remark.

"I think it's flattering that you think my nipple is that high up!" she joked back.

Fans seemed to love Simpson's response to the troll.

"Haha!! Yes mama I'm with you on the nipple .. that is a total compliment it would be for me too!! hahaha!! I love your outlook Jessica I always have!!" one fan wrote.

Here's hoping Simpson's approach will deter any future negative comments.
