Shoppers say it's "soft and hydrating."
I have a confession to make — I have not watched very much of The Bear. It’s too stressful and, TBH, I’m a person who will watch reruns of the same show (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) until I die. But that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate Jeremy Allen White: I watch Instagram reels of him on mute and I enjoyed the Calvin Klein campaign as much as anyone else (maybe more). The show cleaned up at this year’s Emmy Awards and so did he in a white tux with a perfectly plump pucker courtesy of Aesop’s Cedar and Citrus Lip Salve.
I didn’t pay attention to men’s beauty breakdowns at award shows until I learned about how a Tom Ford bronzer was enhancing Cillian Murphy’s god-given cheekbones. Jeremy Allen White’s prep for this year’s Emmy’s consisted of a few Aesop products, but the one I care about the most is the lip salve.
Lip treatments are beyond a dime a dozen — but they are definitely not made equally. It’s why I’d rather splurge on a single $15 lip mask I know works well than have 15 $1 tubes at my disposal. White’s pout, dozens of beaming shopper reviews, and a smart formula make a pretty convincing case that Aesop’s Cedar and Citrus Lip Salve is one of these worth-the-splurge lip products, too.
Fatty acid-rich castor oil is absorbed quickly and deeply by your skin in addition to increasing the absorption of other products. It also has softening, inflammation-reducing, and hydrating properties. It’s enough on it’s own but there’s also glycerin — it provides instant hydration, sure, but more importantly it provides long-lasting, continually flowing moisture. The citrus and cedar in Aesop’s lip salve are seemingly for fragrance purposes.
Shoppers indicate that you won’t go through this quickly thanks to its “thin but hydrating” texture. Another review bought this for their son “who plays professional football.” They said that Aesop’s Cedar and Citrus Lip Salve is the only thing that stopped them from “always complaining how dry and chapped their lips were.” A final reviewer said that they give Aesop’s lip salve as a gift frequently thanks to “positive” feedback about how “soft and hydrating” it is.
