Fans have nothing but bones to pick with Jeopardy! these days.
It doesn't matter if the questions are too easy or too hard or anything in between, viewers just can't be pleased.
On Jan. 3's episode, feathers were ruffled once again during the Final Jeopardy round, which featured a category of "From the French" and the clue: "With murder, shadow, a nosy reporter & Peter Lorre, 1940’s Stranger on the Third Floor is the first example of this, some say."
Two of the three contestants wrote down the correct answer—"film noir"—although, of course, only one could go on to win: Randall Rayford, a solar project developer from Houston, Texas, who moved on to the finals.
Despite one competitor getting stumped over the question, fans thought it could have easily been "another $200 category question."
Someone else complained that there have been "so many grade school final jeopardy's lately..." while another thought it might just be the easiest clue in some time.
"I suspect that had the most obvious giveaways in a Jeopardy clue in a LONG time....." they wrote.
Someone else felt that the quality of the clues had been on a downward spiral for a while, writing, "The quality of the FJ clues have gone down with respect to mystery, excitement and challenge since Alex [Trebek]."
It's been three years since the beloved host passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer, with Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik eventually taking over as co-hosts. Unfortunately, Bialik was let go as a host after two years of duties, which garnered mixed reactions from the show's viewers.
