‘Jeopardy’ Champ Amy Schneider Says She's Saving Her Winnings for This Big Spend
Schneider became the second longest-running contestant with 40 wins.
Jeopardy! contestant Amy Schneider, who achieved a historical 40-win run on the competition game show at the beginning of the year, shared her new plan for what she's going to do with the $1.3 million she won on the show.
Schneider, who works as an engineering manager in her day-to-day life, took to Twitter on Nov. 4 to consider a new plan of how to spend the large sum of money.
Referring to herself and her wife, Genevieve Davis, she said: "We’d been planning on using the $1.3 million from Jeopardy to buy a house, but now I’m thinking maybe I’ll just hold on to it for a year or two and then use it to buy Twitter."
The Jeopardy! contestant's tweet came amidst the drama surrounding Twitter after Elon Musk took over.
The businessman and investor began mass layoffs and announced that he would be charging a monthly fee to be verified, as reported by NBC News.
Many are discussing the situation on the social media platform like Schneider, and plenty of people loved her suggestion, with one writing, "I’m sure you’d run it with more compassion."
Others loved the joke at the expense of Musk's Twitter takeover. One fan replied, "I’ll take ‘I’d like to report a brutal murder for $2000, Ken.'"
It looks like some people also had similar ideas, as one person responded to Schneider saying, "No you can't. I am using the Powerball I will win tomorrow to buy twitter lol."
Although the future of Twitter is uncertain, Schneider is still finding great success after her fantastic run on Jeopardy!
She recently competed in the 2022 Tournament of Champions, although the episodes are currently airing.
Her first broadcast appearance in the tournament will be in the semi-finals on Nov. 9, and fans will have to tune in and see if she continues to become a champion once again.
