Jennifer Lopez Turns to Joanna Gaines for Help Remodeling Her $6.6 Million Malibu Beach House
Okay, sure, we all know about dynamic duos like Bonnie and Clyde, Cher and Sonny, Tom and Jerry, etc. Those are the ultimate-and classic-partners in crime. But this new power duo? We had no clue we needed them until now.
It seems Joanna Gaines has finally teamed up with Jennifer Lopez to fix up the newly purchased oceanfront Malibu beach home that the singer/actress/designer/dancer/perfume magnate shares with boyfriend Alex Rodriguez. J.Lo first exposed her love for the HGTV star on Ellen when she revealed that the two had shared a quick FaceTime call, all thanks to A-Rod.
"I'm obsessed with Fixer Upper," J.Lo explained on the talk show. "And we actually got a 'fixer upper' next to the water. And I was like, wouldn't it be amazing to have [Joanna] do our house? But she doesn't do anything outside of Waco."
Long story short, on their two-year anniversary, A-Rod was set on getting Jo from Waco to Malibu. He arranged the call between the two, and they must have really hit it off.
"Jennifer wanted to walk the space with Joanna in person," a source told People. "They’re both extremely busy, but it’s hard to take on any kind of home project without actually seeing the space."
Spotted first by TMZ outside the California home, it appears that this dream team is ready to make some magic on the West Coast-with a camera crew in tow.
Chip and Jo recently announced in November, after ending their hit show Fixer Upper, that they signed a deal with Discovery for a streaming video channel revolving around their Magnolia brand. Will the J.Lo/A-Rod Malibu home episode be the first to debut on their own network? We can only hope.
