Jennifer Lopez Shines in Grace Ling Breastplate at Elle’s Women in Hollywood Celebration 2023 With Ben Affleck
Jennifer Lopez arrived at Elle’s 2023 Women in Hollywood Celebration on Tuesday in Los Angeles wearing a futuristic look from Grace Ling, which channeled robotic couture.
Lopez’s chrome backless breastplate sculpted her shoulders, which she paired with a black pencil skirt. Collaborating with stylists Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn on her silver-themed ensemble, Lopez’s outfit was from Grace Ling’s spring 2024 ready-to-wear collection.

“The key silhouettes are something that’s sexy yet very sophisticated. I like to use black and a lot of themes, but interpret them with lighthearted humor, so they aren’t too scary. This balance of darkness — I was thinking spring/summer, but twisted and harder,” Ling told WWD backstage at the show in September, which marked her New York Fashion Week debut.
Lopez accessorized her look with a black Tyler Ellis clutch and dazzling Orlov Crocodile earrings.
Lopez is the latest star to don a breastplate, with the armored style accessory also worn by Lupita Nyong’o, Ellie Goulding and Rihanna when the star was headlining the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show in February.
With her husband Ben Affleck by her side in a classic black suit, Lopez was one of the honorees at the event, recognized for her contribution to the music and film industry.
“Understanding what self-love is taught me to unapologetically own every part of me, my body, my voice, my choices,” Lopez told WWD in a November interview, later adding, “There’s nothing more beautiful, I think, than a woman who knows who she is and owns it completely.”
The Elle Women in Hollywood Celebration recognizes the women leading change in the film, television, music industry and beyond. Presented by Ralph Lauren, Harry Winston and Viarae, this year’s celebration honored Lopez along with eight other women, including America Ferrera, Eva Longoria and Taraji P. Henson.
