Jennifer Lopez Gushed About Her Old $2.5 Million Engagement Ring From Ben Affleck
Jennifer Lopez spoke to Dua Lipa, Charli XCX, and Zane Lowe about the engagement ring Ben Affleck gave her in 2004.
To propose, Ben gave J.Lo a massive pink diamond ring worth $2.5 million from Harry Winston. They never got married, and Jennifer gave the ring back when they broke up.
Alex Rodriguez recently gave her a $1.4 million ring when he proposed in March 2019.
Jennifer Lopez might be engaged to Alex Rodriguez now, but she just admitted that massive diamond Ben Affleck gave her in 2004 was pretty damn impressive. I mean, as awkward as that might be for A-Rod to hear, it's true!
When Ben proposed to Jennifer way back when they were the only Bennifer he was a party to, he gifted her a pink diamond ring from Harry Winston that took a $2.5 million chunk out of his bank account. It was the epitome of glamour and Hollywood excess! And Jennifer knows it, too. Talking to Zane Lowe, Dula Peep Dua Lipa, and Charli XCX on a group video call, J.Lo said she "loved getting it."
Here's how the convo went down: When Zane asked the artists how they've been spending their time in quarantine, Jennifer said she's taking it as an opportunity to introduce her kiddos to films by legends like Barbra Streisand. After recalling how they watched Funny Girl, Jennifer launched into a story about how Babs was fascinated by her ring from Ben. She explained:
"I met her at an Oscar party, years ago, and I was at the time engaged to Ben Affleck, and she’s really into diamonds, which I didn’t know. He had given me a pink diamond, which got a lot of press and was whatever. I loved getting it, don’t get me wrong. So, she came up to me, and like, she’s heard of it. I’m like, ‘Oh My God.’ And she’s like, ‘Can I see your ring?’ And she asked me about the ring, but then she asked me–and I thought it was so strange–about being famous, and how I handle it."
But don't for a second think that just because Ben's ring was more expensive and got more attention than her current $1.4 million ring, that Jennifer has any salty feelings. Her love don't cost a thing and that's that!
