Jennifer Aniston shared her go-to smoothie recipe that tastes like dessert.
It contains one of Vital Proteins' chocolate powders, chocolate almond milk, maca berry, cinnamon, matcha, and spinach, with a few daily variants like banana and berries.
“It’s so filling and it tastes like I just indulged,” she said of the drink.
You may have missed it, but Jennifer Aniston recently got a promotion. That’s right, alongside her recurring role on AppleTV’s The Morning Show, the actress recently became Vital Proteins’ chief creative officer because she loves the brand’s products that much.
The 52-year-old has used Vital Proteins’ collagen powders for years, and she recently shared two versions of her go-to smoothie recipe with Well+Good and Byrdie that are a chocolate lover’s dream.
“I have a sweet tooth, but only for really healthy things, so this [smoothie] has just made my life—it’s perfect and amazing," she told Well+Good.
It consists of her daily dose of:
Vital Proteins Chocolate Collagen Powder or Chocolate Vital Performance Protein Powder
Chocolate almond milk
Cinnamon
Cacao
Spinach
She told Byrdie that she’ll sometimes switch it up by throwing in a banana and handful of berries. “The chocolate-flavored Vital Performance Protein is also made with collagen and is my latest obsession,” she said. “It’s so filling, and it tastes like I just indulged.”
Living a healthy lifestyle is something Aniston adopted early on thanks to her mom, who was always conscious about the food her family ate. “When I moved out in my early 20s, my rebellion wasn’t drinking and smoking and going to cool clubs, it was eating Fruit Loops,” she told Well+Good. But that didn’t last long.
“I felt like sh*t, which made sense because what we put into our bodies can have such an effect on our moods... It’s not just about nutritional wellness, it’s about emotional wellness, too,” she explained. “I’ve always been health aware and mindful about what I put into my body and how I take care of myself, not only so I can look great and trim and fit into my jeans but also for longevity and for my bones, my muscles, and my brain.”
Outside of her mid-day smoothies, Aniston practices intermittent fasting. She has celery juice after waking up, followed by a workout and coffee. She also told Byrdie that she also always keeps a Vital Performance Salty Chocolate Peanut Bar nearby, and over the last year, popcorn became her favorite snack. “I really leaned into popcorn during the pandemic. I was like, where has this been all of my life?” she joked. “I also love fruit, especially Asian pear, plums, and apples.”
