Jelly Roll's Wife Bunnie Xo Makes Vulnerable Admission After Weight Loss Medication Caused Unfortunate Side Effect
Bunnie Xo is letting fans in on a vulnerable confession that many others would have taken to their grave after a weight loss medication left her in a rather sticky situation.
On the latest episode of her podcast, Dumb Blonde, the 44-year-old opened up about her experience on tirzepatide so far. Like Ozempic, tirzepatide—branded under Mounjaro and Zepbound—was originally approved as a diabetes medication, but has since gained approval for weight management by improving insulin production to break down sugar and suppressing a user's appetite, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

While Bunnie says she is "feeling a little skinny," having lost almost three pounds in the two weeks she's been on the medication so far, she's not taking the medication with the intention of slimming down—and it was no easy feat to get this far.
The very first night she took the injection, she was feeling alright until suddenly, late at night, she felt like she was going to "projectile vomit” in the middle of trying out her Halloween looks, despite the fact that she "microdosed" the medication to help calm down her inflammation and regulate her hormones due to a presumed diagnosis of PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) and endometriosis.
“So I'm doing it for hormone health,” she explained. ”My first time taking it, I took...the tiniest bit, and I'm so thankful that I did that because this s--t sent me for a ride, dude.”
"I'm telling you...[I thought I was] gonna have to go to the hospital," she said, describing five days of exhausting symptoms, including hot flashes and severe diarrhea. "Like, I'm so sick...I was dehydrated...so bad.”
"Luckily," as Bunnie said, she and her hubby Jelly Roll, who is currently on his Beautifully Broken tour, are traveling with a nurse. “She gave me two IV bags and some magnesium, and I felt like a new woman. So that right there showed me that I was, like, severely dehydrated. After that, I was fine."
While she "still [doesn't] feel great on it,” she is "back to, like, pooping normally in case everybody wants to know."
She continued: “Everybody tells me it gives them energy and they feel so good; I just feel like I have a chemical in my body, and I don't love it." She's willing to give it another go, though, and intends to try a different prescription from a different pharmacy to see if it makes a difference.
“I'm gonna...start really super, super slow and see how that goes."
It hasn't been all bad, though. On the medication, Bunnie has "been getting, like, eight hours of sleep, and it has been so great." She's also noticed a decrease in inflammation, but still issued a warning to listeners about jumping right into trying the prescription, especially “if you're super sensitive to things."
"I don't even wanna take aspirin," she admitted. "I don't have anything in my system. I'm literally, like, just raw-dogging life over here."
