Jeff Bezos Has Invested in Well Over $100 Million Worth of Property at a Manhattan Prewar Building
With his most recent purchase, billionaire Jeff Bezos is continuing to add to his massive real estate portfolio. According to the New York Post, Bezos recently purchased a unit at 212 Fifth Avenue, a Manhattan building he already owns four units in.
Located in Manhattan's Flatiron District, the Neo-gothic building was originally built in 1912, but has received modern updates (think yoga studio, catering kitchen and smart home technology) to keep up with the needs of its clientele since then.
Now that the Amazon founder has snatched up a fifth unit in the building, his stake in the property now stands at an impressive $119 million. Bezos first began buying property in the building in 2019 when he purchased three units totaling $80 million. The next year, he dished out $16 million for a fourth unit. The four-bedroom/four-bathroom unit purchased this year cost a total of $23 million.
If Bezos' properties at 212 Fifth Avenue alone are dizzying, the billionaire owns even more property outside of New York. His additional properties are located in Washington state, Texas, California and Washington, D.C.
