Jack Schlossberg Looked Just Like His Late Uncle JFK Jr. at the Democratic Convention
On the second night of the 2020 Democratic National Convention, a group of high-profile speakers delivered speeches from remote locations across the country—including President John F. Kennedy's daughter and grandson, Caroline Kennedy and Jack Kennedy Schlossberg.
The pair invoked JFK's well-known patriotic speech—best remembered for the line "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country"—to explain why Donald Trump shouldn't be reelected. "We can reach these new frontiers, but only with a President who asks what he can do for our country and what together we can do to build a better world," Schlossberg said. "It's up to us. Let's get it done."
He continued, "Times have changed. But the themes of my grandfather's speech—courage, unity and patriotism—are as important today as they were in 1960. And once again, we need a leader who believes America's best days are yet to come. We need Joe Biden."
(And on a less political, more superficial note, many viewers were also struck by the young Kennedy's resemblance to his late Uncle John F. Kennedy, Jr. See it for yourself in the photos below.)
For her part, Caroline Kennedy recalled her time serving as the U.S. ambassador to Japan, when she was able to see Democratic nominee Joe Biden "in action." "He stepped off Air Force Two wearing his aviator glasses and a big smile, radiating American optimism and generosity," she said. "I saw a leader who was tough but fair."
