Jack Pine unveils 2024 Mother’s Day Pumpkin benefitting ovarian cancer research
LAURELVILLE – Well-known glass artist Jack Pine unveiled his 2024 Mother’s Day Pumpkin recently. After a collector suggested last year that he create an annual Mother’s Day Pumpkin, Pine obliged.
He designed the 2024 Mother’s Day Pumpkin in iridescent shades of teal blue-green to honor women fighting ovarian cancer, with 10% of all its sales benefitting ovarian cancer research through the Kline Family Fund for Ovarian Cancer Research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James).
“For Mother’s Day, I really wanted to create a piece that lets us give back to the community, supporting an important cause that benefits women,” said Pine in a news release. “One of our festival team members is a mother of two who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. When I considered her story, and how much I love my own mom, it inspired me to design a piece that helps fund research for a disease that strikes so many moms and other women.”
