Ivanka Trump gets backlash after wishing Muslims Eid Mubarak: 'Your duplicity is despicable'
A week after her response to the mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton drew scorn from critics, Ivanka Trump is once again the target of Twitter backlash.
On Sunday, the first daughter and senior White House adviser posted a message in honor of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice. Trump — who converted to Orthodox Judaism ahead of marrying Jared Kushner — wished “health, happiness and joy” to those Muslims marking the occasion.
Eid Mubarak to Muslims all around the world celebrating Eid al-Adha!
Wishing you health, happiness and joy!— Ivanka Trump (@IvankaTrump) August 11, 2019
But given the Trump administration’s travel ban on Muslim-majority countries and recent “send her back” attacks on Muslim congresswoman Rep. Ilhan Omar, the 37-year-old’s tweet was slammed as “insincere.”
There seems to be no end to your insensitivity, ignorance &belief that anyone believes anything you or your rancid father & brothers say.Two words Ivanka; #MuslimBan Will you be wishing Mexicans Happy Cinqo de Mayo next year too ? #TrumpCrimeFamily #TrumpCrimesAgainstHumanity

Your father instituted a Muslim ban.

(psst, don't nobody tell Nepotism Barbie here how her father tried to ban all Muslims from entering the United States)

I'm sure @IlhanMN might see this tweet as insincere.

If you feel this way, encourage your father to end the Muslim ban.

You are adding insult to injury.

Not all the responses were critical. Some thanked Trump for the well wishes, while singer Kaya Jones, an outspoken supporter of the president, also weighed in.
You have a heart of gold. God bless you
