Ivana Trump says being a mother will stop former daughter-in-law from finding love again
Vanessa Trump filed for divorce from her husband of 12 years, Donald Trump Jr., last month, as several scandals that he was allegedly involved erupted. Now Vanessa’s 69-year-old former mother-in-law, Ivana Trump, thinks that she will have trouble finding a new man, according to Page Six.
Ivana claims that Vanessa will struggle to find love again because she is a mother.
“Donald Jr. is a good-looking guy. He is successful. He is not going to have a problem to find a girl,” she said. “Maybe Vanessa might have a little problem because she has five kids. … Who is going to date and marry the woman who has five children?”
Ivana’s thoughts on Vanessa’s difficulty in finding love again don’t stand up to actual facts. In fact, the statistics are in Vanessa’s favor. According to the Huffington Post, one survey shows that women with children younger than 18 (Vanessa and Donald Jr.’s kids are between the ages of 10 and 3) are finding love 10 percent faster than women who do not have kids. Also, per the U.S. census, 40% of new marriages involve remarriage, where one or both of the spouses have been married before.
People called out Ivana’s comments as pretty sexist, given that the five children also belong to her son.

That’s a disgusting thing for any mother to say, so Vanessa has 5 kids but Don Jr doesn’t? Can’t imagine women lining up to date a Trump, especially if he’s in jail and paying child support for 5 kids… Maybe Vanessa doesn’t want a husband after her horrible experience with Jr

Ivana forgets that these 5 children have the Trump name. Vanessa will probably be ok as one of the richest divorcees in NY. She may end up w/ full custody if Jr is in prison.

Despite the harsh comments, Ivana Trump also sympathized with Vanessa and opened up about how hurtful it can be to handle a cheating scandal in the public eye. The president’s first wife is familiar with this situation, as she divorced Donald Trump for cheating on her with Marla Maples.
“It’s always distressing, because I’ve been there,” said Ivana of the cheating allegations. “But who am I to judge, and who knows what was the situation at that moment?
“It’s a long time ago now, so I think Vanessa knew it all along, and maybe she just couldn’t get over the hurt to forgive him. But I honestly don’t know that many men who can keep their zippers up.”
Ivana also sympathized with Melania Trump and has sympathy for her, as the Stormy Daniels scandal is unfolding.
“I feel bad for [Melania] because I know how bad I did feel. It hurts a lot,” said Ivana.
“I have pride and I have dignity and stuff like that, but so many women, around the world, they live with the men knowing that they are cheating and stuff like that. Everybody handles their situation their own way.”
