Isabel Marant Men’s Fall 2024
Isabel Marant’s fall collection is for the mix-and-match man who wants an ease with his wardrobe, keeping it casual while bringing in key pieces from the tailoring trend.
Originally an offspring of her more causal étoile line for women, which borrowed masculine looks from the boys, Marant doesn’t shy away from traditionally feminine touches and mixes them up to less than literal effect. Diffused floral prints on short-sleeve button downs have a tie-dye effect, for example, while gradient pastels pool color at the hems of T-shirts.

Marant’s man is not entirely immune to the suit trend, pairing a tailored blazer with cargo pants or a striped button down with a denim jacket, and gets a jump start on the “Grandpa-core” trend in a soft knit printed cardigan. Marant’s use of pale pink will also play well this season.
“We should not be afraid to style out your looks the way you want to,” said creative director Kim Bekker. “We are going back to a more sophisticated [trend], but dare a bit more and why not put it all together to create your own identity?”
“It’s more about creating a wardrobe where you can just pick up some elements,” Marant added. “We wanted to show a man that doesn’t [stress] to make a silhouette. It’s really about two different universes.”
It makes for a tactile collection with plenty of knits, and takes a carefree approach to the classics with combinations such as sweat shorts paired with a strong overcoat for a gentleman-goes-to-the-gym vibe.
Marant said that one big surprise since launching the men’s line is the success of the jewelry, which men want to snap up to complete their looks. It’s selling well as a growing accessory category.
