IKEA’s Fourth of July Hours Are Great for Shoppers
IKEA may be a Swedish company, but there’s something very American to me about spending the Fourth of July eating Swedish meatballs, cruising the aisles in the blasting AC, and grabbing a TARVA bed frame.
If your brain works like mine does, you might be wondering the following question: Is IKEA open on the Fourth of July? Again, IKEA’s headquarters are in Sweden, but so many stores like Costco close all of their locations on Independence Day, so it’s a good question to ask before you plan a trip. Luckily, a store representative confirmed to Apartment Therapy that all IKEA locations will be open on July 4, 2024.
The rep recommended checking your closest store’s hours just to be on the safe side, but you should be good to go and get your MALM on. Generally, IKEA only closes on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, so you’re usually in luck if you want to buy a little something that comes with an Allen wrench.
If you’ve had dreams of taking on an IKEA hack, let this be your sign to use the day off to grab some supplies. The project can be as simple as adding a GREJIG shoe rack to your closet to maximize storage space, or a little more involved, like creating a gorgeous wall-mounted cabinet unit with just MOPPE boxes.
But if you’re in the mood to just shop and not take on a project, snap up a gorgeous DYKARKLOCKA pendant light (it looks like it cost three times the price), a super-useful H?TASSEN side table, or a simple, timeless BJ?RSEN shower curtain. All are classic items you’ll use for years to come, even if a tiny bit of assembly is involved. Plus, they’ll tide you over nicely while you patiently wait for the beautiful TYG textile collection to finally hit stores.
