Selena Gomez never disappoints on red carpet glam, but rather than a bold red lip or statement blush, the focal point of her look was her long, shiny, and simply styled locks. The look perfectly complimented the Best Actress Nominee’s elegant black velvet Ralph Lauren gown, landing her on WWD’s Emmy Awards 2024 Best Dressed List. Luckily, we’ve got all the deets on how her longtime hairstylist, Marissa Marino, achieved her effortlessly polished hair look.

More from WWD

“My goal for tonight was glossy, shiny hair,” Marino shared in an Instagram post. The stylist enlisted a slew of Fekkai’s shine-boosting hair products, including the cult-favorite Brilliant Glossing Styling Crème that just relaunched last week. When it debuted in 1995, Fekkai’s Brilliant Glossing Styling Crème became a secret weapon for runway and red carpet hair looks, as well as a sought-after shopper favorite for years. In fact, the previously-discontinued product has sold for north of $100 on eBay, but now you can grab a fresh tube for just $30 today. This top hair styling product is beloved for its transformative ability to tamp down every bit of frizz and impart high-shine, glossy results. Formulated with prickly pear seed oil and Italian cold-pressed olive oil, the product deposits deep hydration that penetrates hair follicles, and like a curl cream, it provides a flexible hold on natural coils and straight hair textures — the perfect finishing touch for Gomez’s soft waves.

Hair glossing has been rising among TikTok beauty product trends with over 147 million views and searches to date, but Fekkai’s Brilliant Glossing Styling Crème simplifies glass hair routines in one easy step. But if you want to next-level gleam like Gomez, Marino also invoked other bestsellers from Fekkai’s Brilliant Glossing line. After washing her strands with the Brilliant Gloss shampoo and conditioner, she applied the Styling Crème “from roots to ends and brushed through with Kristin Ess Hair’s Style Assist Large Detangling Hair Brush,” said the stylist in her post. After blow drying, she followed up with Fekkai’s Glass Hair Anti-Frizz Serum, added soft ringlets to the ends of her hair using the Kristin Ess Titanium Curling Iron, and locked everything in place with Fekkai’s Flexible Hold Hairspray.

Below, shop every product that went into Gomez’s smooth, soft, and ultra-shiny hair look, including the recently relaunched Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Styling Crème that has beauty lovers in a chokehold.
