Hugh Jackman Answers Fans' Questions About 'Deadpool 3,' Sort Of
The Australian actor is reviving his fan-favorite character Wolverine.
Marvel fans everywhere were ecstatic to learn that Hugh Jackman will return as Wolverine one more time in Deadpool 3, teaming up with Ryan Reynolds.
Reynolds revealed the news with a cheeky video, also sharing that Deadpool 3 will be released in theaters on Sept. 6, 2024.
In a new video posted on Jackman's social media, the actor joined Reynolds on the couch to answer some of the fans' many questions–or not?
The new video starts with Reynolds and Jackman addressing the viewers, saying, "You have questions?"
Jackman then says, "I had a lot of questions. I'm sure you had a lot of questions. But rest assured, we're going to answer them right now."
He continues, "Like, for example, how is Wolverine alive?"
This is a legitimate question Marvel fans likely have, as the last time Jackman played the character Wolverine was in Logan, and (spoiler alert!) he dies at the end of the film.
In response, Reynolds explains, "Logan takes place in 2029. Totally separate thing. Logan died in Logan. Not touching that."
He then says, "What actually happens in our film is, these two f–king guys..."
The video then plays the song "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" by Wham! over their voices, keeping the plot of Deadpool 3 a relative mystery.
From the bits and pieces that can be heard through the music, it looks like there's a lot of fighting, as expected, and Reynolds says, "I'm chasing [Wolverine] all over the place."
Reynolds and Jackman mime a lot of stabbing, but of course, both characters are relatively immortal and can heal, so that's not necessarily a sign of anything bad to come.
Despite the fact that the new video doesn't reveal much more information about Deadpool 3, it's a funny little clip that's sure to get fans even more excited.
Comic book creator Rob Liefeld, who created the character of Deadpool with writer Fabian Nicieza, even commented on the video on Instagram, writing, "This!!! All day long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
