You Can Visit the House From “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” This Halloween

If you grew up watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch, this newly listed home is sure to conjure up a few flashbacks: The Victorian abode that starred in the ‘90s sitcom is now on the market for $1.95 million, just in time for Halloween!
The hit series—which premiered in 1996 and ran for seven seasons—followed Sabrina Spellman (Melissa Joan Hart), a 16-year-old with supernatural powers living with her two zany aunts and talking cat, Salem. Though the show was filmed on a soundstage in Los Angeles, the Queen Anne-style house that played Spellman Manor is actually located in Freehold, New Jersey...about a five-hour drive from the fictional town of Greendale, Massachusetts, where the series was set (though it is near several homes owned by Bruce Springsteen, notes NJ.com).
Fans might be quick to recognize the home’s distinct facade, which is pretty much the same as it was 25 years ago—but they’ll be surprised to see how different its interior looks from the Spellmans’ purported paranormal sprawl. Originally built as a private residence in the late 19th century, the dwelling—which spans two buildings totaling about 7,000 square feet—is currently being used for office space, according to a microsite dedicated to the listing. The three-story front house, which you can rent for $9,750 per month, features a full kitchen and several oversize workspaces, while the smaller rear structure (available for $3,200 a month) contains a kitchen, five offices, and two bathrooms.
The commercial build was reportedly in desperate need of a face-lift before its current owners purchased it from the bank for $335,000 in 2014. They renovated the entire property from top to bottom, updating many of the dated architectural details seen on the show, including the dark shutters, third-floor balconies, and metal porch railings.
Sadly, you won’t find a portal in the linen closet to the Other Realm (believe us, we checked!)—but the home has plenty of other enchanting features, including a cozy brick fireplace and gleaming hardwood floors, not to mention a sweet wraparound porch!
If you want to tour the house IRL, here's your chance: On Halloween, the property will be dressed for the occasion and open to the public from 11am to 5pm. "We’ve been overwhelmed by the response since the news of the listing went viral," says Mike Lubrano, the Century 21 agent who currently holds the listing. "An open house seemed like the perfect response, and we're looking forward to welcoming anyone and everyone who shows up on Halloween."
The front of the home will be decked out in spooky fashion to welcome potential buyers, trick-or-treaters, and Sabrina fans, and visitors will have the chance to take photos with the agent's dog, which will be dressed as a bat ("to help ward off any 500-year-old black cats!"). They'll be treated to a lesson on the origins of the home and how it ended up being featured in the iconic show—and of course, plenty of candy.
Want beautiful homes? We’ve got plenty. Let’s swoon over them together.
