Gallagher has the unique honor of being the first Honkai: Star Rail character with facial hair to become playable – paired with his gruff voice and the rest of his appearance, this makes him premium daddy material. Though a security officer for the Bloodhound Family on Penacony, Gallagher actually follows the Path of The Abundance.
That, of course, makes him a healer – which isn’t what you might expect after looking at him. Less surprising is probably that he can throw a punch as well. How does this all fit together? What can we say, the man has a healing touch.

Honkai: Star Rail – Gallagher: Skills
Gallagher is an offensively-minded healer, supporting the team’s forward efforts while keeping everyone protected. His ability to inflict debuffs on enemies make him a potential ally for a couple of recently-released 5-Star characters. Gallagher has a Trace increasing his Outgoing Healing based on Break Effect, so this is a very important stat for him.
Skill – Special Brew: Heals the targeted ally for a set amount of HP.
Ultimate – Champagne Etiquette: Inflicts the Besotted status on all enemies for two turns along with dealing Fire Damage based on his Attack to all of them. His Ultimate will also enhance his next Basic Attack, changing it from Corkage Fee to Nectar Blitz.
Talent – Tipsy Tussle: Besotted increases Break Damage received by affected enemies. Allies targeting Besotted enemies heal a set amount of HP.
Enhanced Attack – Nectar Blitz: Deals Fire Damage to a single target and reduces its Attack for two turns. Thanks to one of his Traces, Gallagher can trigger the healing effect from attacking Besotted enemies for all allies when using Nectar Blitz, making it another heal if it’s timed correctly. Hitting this perfect timing is made easier by yet another Trace, which advances his turn forward 100% after using his Ultimate.
Honkai: Star Rail – Gallagher: Light Cones
The Abundance has several good 5-Star Light Cones in store that greatly benefit Gallagher, if he were to use them. Of these, Night of Fright is probably the most potent. It helps him activate his Ultimate faster with its increased Energy Regeneration and provides another layer of healing due to its ability. Finally, it buffs healed characters’ Attack.
However, using a limited 5-Star Light Cone on a 4-Star character may not be the best move – in this case, What Is Real? will serve Gallagher very well. This 4-Star Light Cone is basically made for him, adding to his Break Effect and allowing him to keep his own HP up while attacking.

Gallagher benefits from the usual healer-relevant stats like Outgoing Healing and additional HP. As mentioned above, though, he’s unique among his class in that he really wants Break Effect for an additional boost to his healing. Speed is another important matter to trigger the effects of certain equipment pieces.

Gallagher is a fine healer for pretty much any party. However, he synergizes best with units that require debuffs to live up to their full potential, since he can assist with inflicting those on foes.
Best Team: Gallagher + debuff-reliant Main DPS + two Sub DPS or Support characters
Acheron and Dr. Ratio are the two most prominent Main DPS characters who benefit from fighting debuffed targets. For Acheron, Gallagher’s debuffs help charge up her devastating Ultimate. In combination with Dr. Ratio, Gallagher’s debuffs allow the star of the show to unleash follow-up attacks on a more consistent basis – in both cases, the team’s damage output increases.
