This High-Tech TV Looks Like a Gorgeous Piece of Artwork and We Need One Immediately
Amongst the many necessary home eyesores (think air conditioners, garbage cans, doggie gates),nothing bums us out quite like the focal black hole that is our television.
For years we’ve been experimenting with stashing screens in armoires and behind canvas art (and fighting our S.O. on whether it can have the spot of honor over the mantel). And we still hadn’t found a perfect solution...until now.
Guys, meet The Frame. Samsung unveiled the Yves Béhar-designed TV early this summer, dubbing it “the most beautiful TV in the world,” and it’s safe to say they weren’t kidding: It really is a work of art.
Take a peek at the features below and prepare to swoon.

Television As Art
Completely wall-flush and ultra-thin, the TV also comes with 4K resolution—meaning the picture quality is crystalline and lifelike. But what makes it so darn special (aside from the sleek design features) is that the TV flips to “Art Mode” when it isn’t in use and displays your choice of 100 preloaded, rotating artworks. Pretty as a, well, picture—no?
Completely Personal
But the fun doesn’t stop there. You can purchase endless additional artwork options or upload personal photos if that’s more your style. You can even tweak the layout to include multiple images (say, a triptych of kiddo pics). Between this feature and the fact that the TV is Brightness Sensor-controlled (meaning it automatically adjusts color and lightness so the art looks natural), we might even consider putting a TV in the bedroom (shhhh).
Fully Customizable
Last but not least, the TV’s artlike features are fully customizable. You can pick a frame color to match your decor (black, white, walnut or beige wood), as well as the color and size of the matte border—just as you would customize a professionally framed artwork.
But like custom artwork (sigh), there is a custom art cost (prices start at $2,000 for a 55-inch model). But can you really put a price on keeping your living room Zen?
