Why You Didn’t See Millie Bobby Brown at the 2022 Emmy Awards
Millie Bobby Brown, unfortunately, did not make it out for the 2022 Emmy Awards—aka TV’s biggest night—but don’t you worry, because she has a good reason for staying home this time around.
Fans were hoping that the Stranger Things star would make an appearance at the big award show, but the actress, fashion icon, and beauty mogul has been quite busy over the past few months. She just wrapped up the show’s fourth season and has also been working on Enola Holmes, so we can’t exactly blame her for sitting this one out.
Stranger Things overall has a good chance to take home some hardware, especially since it's nominated for *takes deep breath*...Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series, Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Period or Fantasy Program, Outstanding Stunt Performance, Outstanding Special Visual Effects, Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Period and/or Character Makeup, Outstanding Period and/or Character Hairstyling, and Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Drama Series. Actually, the show has already won five of these awards, so it’s definitely having a good night!
Meanwhile, Millie wasn’t nominated for her legendary role as Eleven. (Both she and Sadie Sink were ROBBED, let’s face it!) And if you’re hoping things might change next year, I have bad news for you: Unfortunately, they don’t qualify even though season 4 wasn’t done by the time nominations were due for this year’s ceremony.
But it looks like the snub (my words, not hers) is not bugging her one bit as she’s been enjoying some (much-deserved!) time off recently.
And considering that Stranger Things season 5 is already in the works and the fact that Millie recently announced she’ll be attending Purdue University this fall (online, ofc), she probably needs a little R&R tonight. (I mean, it IS Monday night, after all.)
Hey, Millie, you’re still a winner to us even without the nomination!
