  • BAZAAR.com can confirm that the duchess is "having a quiet celebration at home" with her husband, Prince Harry, and their young son, Archie, in Los Angeles.

Happy birthday to the Duchess of Sussex!

Meghan is ringing in her 39th birthday today, and contrary to previous reporting that the duchess was looking to embark on a low-key getaway for her special day, BAZAAR.com can confirm that she is simply spending time with her husband, Prince Harry, and their one-year-old son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, at their Los Angeles home.

Meghan will be "having a quiet celebration at home," a source close to the duchess tells us.

Following their stepping down from the royal family early this year, as well as their relocation from the United Kingdom to Los Angeles in March, both Meghan and Harry have kept extremely low profiles. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Sussexes have spent the majority of their time quarantining at home, though they have made it a point to continue their charity work as much as possible during this time.

Most recently, the duchess donated $10,000 to MigratefulUK, a British cookery charity that supports refugees and asylum seekers. And just last month, Meghan spoke to young women with an empowering speech regarding activism amid the Black Lives Matter movement at the virtual 2020 Girl Up Leadership Summit.

"Sometimes it's not obvious what to do. Often, it's fear that paralyzes us and stops us from being brave and being bold," she said during her address. "But don't underestimate that you have some of those answers within. Don't underestimate your ability to push through the fear. You have, rooted in your convictions, the ability to craft a world that you know is just and kind. Your gut will tell you what’s right and what’s wrong, what’s fair and unfair. The hardest part—and it was the hardest part for me—is to chase your convictions with action."
