Here's Your First Look at the Potential 'Fire Country' Spinoff
'Fire Country'
Fire Country might be getting a lot bigger very soon.
CBS is developing a potential spinoff of the hit firefighter drama that would star Morena Baccarin as a sheriff in Bode Leone's (Max Thieriot) hometown.
Baccarin is making her Fire Country debut in the upcoming sixth episode of Season 2, titled "Alert the Sheriff." TVLine has the first look photos.

Baccarin, an Emmy-nominated veteran of the TV shows Homeland and Gotham and the Deadpool movie trilogy, will play Mickey Fox, who is described as "a sheriff’s deputy with 15 years of experience, who is fiercely protective of her Edgewater, California turf."

Her debut episode will air on April 12. The synopsis, according to TVLine, is that when a fire camp inmate escapes from Three Rock, Mickey—who has a “surprising connection” to the Leone family—is called to investigate. (We're guessing she was at the scene of the car crash that took Riley's [Jade Pettyjohn] life and/or arrested Bode when he committed the robbery that sent him to prison.)
The episode will be a normal one for Fire Country, not a "backdoor pilot" that serves as a de facto first episode of a new show. The spinoff, which is rumored to be called Sheriff Country, has not been ordered to series yet. CBS might be waiting to see how fans receive Baccarin's Mickey in her Fire Country guest-starring debut before committing to the spinoff.
Fire Country was the top-rated new show of the 2022-23 season. While ratings are down in Season 2 so far, it remains one of CBS' top-ten shows and is its highest-rated show on Friday nights, according to TV Series Finale. It has already been renewed for Season 3.
New episodes of Fire Country will resume on April 5 after CBS' coverage of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament concludes.
