Tyra Banks Is Officially the New Host of ‘Dancing With the Stars’
Tyra Banks is officially the new host of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars.
Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews were recently informed they are no longer hosting the show.
Good morning and hello there, Tyra Banks was just announced as the new host of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. Tyra—who is also executive-producing the show, FYI!—revealed the news in a statement to Us Weekly. Behold:
“I’ve been a fan of DWTS since its beginning…the fun mixed with raw emotion, seeing celebrities push past their comfort zones, the sizzling dance performances. It’s always transported me to my days of turning it up 10 notches on the catwalk. Tom has set a powerful stage, and I’m excited to continue the legacy and put on my executive producer and hosting hats.”
Meanwhile, Karey Burke, the president of ABC Entertainment, released a statement and included a smize joke for good measure:
“Tyra is an award-winning multi-hyphenate whose fierce female prowess and influence across many industries have made an indelible mark,” she said. “Her fresh take on America’s favorite dancing competition will surely bring more than a ‘smize’ to fans everywhere.”
This news comes just a few days after DWTS host Tom Bergeron revealed he’d been axed from the show, saying he’d been informed of the decision by ABC. (Note: Cohost Erin Andrews isn’t returning either.)
Just informed @DancingABC will be continuing without me. It's been an incredible 15 year run and the most unexpected gift of my career. I'm grateful for that and for the lifelong friendships made. That said, now what am I supposed to do with all of these glitter masks?

No word yet as to which celebs will be joining the show, but we do know The Bachelorette’s Kaitlyn Bristowe has been cast!
