What Happened at LACMA's 2019 Art+Film Gala?
There might be no more aptly named event than the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s Art+Film Gala. The ninth annual installment took place on November 2, and gathered a glittering assortment of artists (Catherine Opie, Mark Bradford, Barbara Kruger, and Luchita Hurtado) and movie stars (including current T&C cover star Laura Dern, Yara Shahidi, Salma Hayek Pinault, Donald Glover, and more) at the museum’s L.A. campus for an evening chaired by Eva Chow and actor Leonardo DiCaprio and held in honor of artist Betye Saar and filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón.
More than 800 guests showed up to the evening, which was presented by Gucci and raised more than $4.6 million to support LACMA’s exhibitions, programming, acquisitions, and film initiatives.
