What Happened at the 2022 Literacy Partners Gala?

On April 11, a group of well-read do-gooders, including Dana Canedy, Zibby Owens, Marie Brenner, Ta-Nehisi Coates, and Mary Wells Lawrence were honored by the education non-profit Literacy Partners at the group’s first in-person gala in two years. Held at Cipriani Wall Street, the event was emceed by Cynthia McFadden and drew a crowd of literary luminaries including Sheila Nevins, Lesley Stahl, Mahogany L. Brown, Sophia Chang, Perri Peltz, and Louise Grunwald, among others.
