Hailey Bieber Posted "I'll Kill You" on Insta After Selena Gomez's Song Came Out
Hailey Baldwin (now Bieber) made an interesting move when a lot of eyes were on her account to see if she had any spicy reaction to her husband Justin Bieber's ex Selena Gomez's new song "Lose You to Love Me" right after it came out. Baldwin posted an Instagram Story of the song she was listening to at the time: Summer Walker's "I'll Kill You."
Walker's song is more or less a lyrical warning to other women not to come between her and her partner. Lyrics in that song include "Don't want no problems, I wish a bitch would / Try to come between us, it won't end up good / You know I love you like no one else could / I'd go to Hell and back for ya."
So yes, it was easy for Selena Gomez fans to take that as a message to Gomez to back off Bieber, especially given Gomez's new single is a breakup song that seems partly inspired by her relationship with Bieber.

Hailey is married with the man, and still insecure about Selena.

The most telling, Baldwin-centric lyric on Gomez's single is the one where Gomez seemed to call Bieber out for moving on with Baldwin (dating, getting engaged to, and marrying the model) so quickly after their own relationship ended. Gomez and Bieber's break became a breakup in March/April 2018; Bieber started dating Baldwin in June and got engaged to her in July. Justin and Hailey got married in September 2018.
Gomez sang, "I gave my all and they all know it / You turned me down, and now it's showing / In two months you replaced us / Like it was easy / Made me think I deserved it / And to think of healing."
But Gomez also isn't threatening Baldwin and Bieber's relationship directly or indirectly on the track. Gomez didn't put out a torch song; she ends "Lose You to Love Me"—which by its title alone suggests the relationship she was singing about needed to end because it was toxic to her—with a goodbye. "I needed to lose you to love me / And now it's goodbye, goodbye for us," Gomez sang.
Baldwin hasn't responded to the Gomez fan backlash. Bieber, by the way, just posted a photo of an animal shortly after Gomez's song came out. Nothing explosive there:
