Gwyneth Paltrow Marries Brad Falchuk in Hamptons Wedding Ceremony: Details
It’s a wedding that’s been a long time coming for Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk. The lovebirds got married in a gorgeous Hamptons wedding on Saturday, Sept. 29, more than four years after they first began dating.
The pair first met on the set of Glee back in 2010, when Paltrow guest starred on the Fox show.
Guests included stars like Robert Downey Jr., Jerry Seinfeld, Cameron Diaz and husband Benji Madden. Falchuk drove himself to the ceremony while the rest of the guests arrived as well.
Prior to their big day, Paltrow, 46, prepared for the wedding in a cool, calm and collected manner, shopping for lingerie in NYC on Thursday, her birthday, a fitting way to kick off a wedding weekend that she wanted to keep simple and stress-free.
“I think I’m [too] old to have a big wedding,” she told Entertainment Tonight this past January. “And [to have] a big ole white dress and all that … I gotta dial it back.”
Still, her wedding to Falchuk, 47, actually marks her first-ever, given that she and ex-husband Chris Martin eloped when they wed in 2003. “I’m excited about everything!” she previously told PeopleStyle. “I’ve never had a wedding before. So even though I’m 45, I sort of feel like a 21-year-old.”
It’s an exciting new step for Paltrow, who wrote in-depth about her decision to get married later on in life in Goop Magazine’s Sex & Love issue earlier this year.
“For the first time, I feel like I’m in an adult relationship that is sometimes very uncomfortable—because he sort of demands a certain level of intimacy and communication that I haven’t been held to before,” she said at the time. “Personally, at midlife, I have tried to accept how complex romantic love can be. I have decided to give it a go again, not only because I believe I have found the man I was meant to be with, but because I have accepted the soul-stretching, pattern-breaking opportunities that (terrifyingly) are made possible by intimacy.”
Paltrow and Falchuk first went public with their relationship in April 2015, at Robert Downey Jr.’s 50th birthday party. Since then, they have amassed a large number of A-list friends, many of whom attended their nuptials Saturday.
