Gwen Stefani Gets Emotional As Blake Shelton Recalls the First Time They Met

Blake Shelton might be good at cracking jokes, but he can tug at the heartstrings when he wants to.
The country crooner, 47, turned on the charm while speaking at wife Gwen Stefani's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony this week, causing the No Doubt singer to shed a few tears.
While taking the stage during the ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 19, Shelton began by talking about the first day he met Stefani, 54, when the two musicians were both working as judges on NBC's The Voice in 2014.
"She wasn’t like any other famous person that I had ever met before," he recalled, noting that Stefani "drove herself to work in a black minivan with car seats in it," presumably for her three children: Kingston, Zuma and Apollo.

"She didn’t roll in with security. She came in with a baby and two little boys, which at the time worked like security because nobody was going near—it was chaos," he said, prompting Stefani to chuckle.
But her laughter quickly turned to happy tears as Shelton went on to say, "It was clear to me that she was a mother first and foremost over anything else in the world—that was her No. 1 job."
"And now, standing here almost 10 years later after I first met her, I can say without question that being a mother is still the most important thing in her life," the "God's Country" singer declared. "And I got to tell you all, that’s rare in this business."
After their initial meeting in 2014 following their respective divorces, the twosome would go on to form a relationship by 2015. They got engaged in 2020 and tied the knot the following July.
Aside from her most important role as a mother, Shelton of course applauded his wife for her impressive music career during Thursday's ceremony, quipping to the audience, "It's nice to see her honored for her side project, which is being one of the biggest stars in the world."
After gushing even more about his wife, Shelton wrapped up his speech by saying, "Congratulations to my all-time favorite songwriter on your star. You deserve this and I love you."
It's no wonder Stefani couldn't keep it together!
