Whether you need a themed alcoholic drink for a small Christmas party, or one to serve at a larger gathering, the Grinch Cocktail is the obvious choice this season, thanks to its viral popularity on TikTok.
This recipe for a green-as-the-Grinch cocktail is the same shade as the infamous Dr. Seuss character that goes by the same name. Wickedly green and delicious to boot, the drink is sure to spread cheer across every holiday party you encounter. He may be a mean one, that Mr. Grinch, but he makes a mean cocktail as well.

What is a Grinch Cocktail?
The Grinch cocktail is a fluorescent green concoction adorned with an equally bright red cherry. It's a fun drink that requires minimal effort to make and is guaranteed to make even the crankiest of hearts grow three sizes bigger.
I’ve seen this libation made using a variety of spirits: some clear, some laced with food coloring and also a few that used naturally green spirits.

For my interpretation, I used Midori liqueur, which is green hued and melon flavored and in my opinion, requires no additional add-ins. I have seen others made with Midori that add vodka or rum. While I don't think that's necessary, it is truly a matter of preference.

What is Midori?
Midori is a very sweet liqueur from Japan that tastes like an overripe honeydew melon. It's light on the alcohol, which makes it a great all-night party cocktail mixer. To balance the sweetness of the Midori, I recommend adding fresh squeezed lemon juice. However, if you find it not sweet enough for your liking you can always add a small amount of simple syrup. As with most cocktails, this one is easily customizable.
