"I Got This"- Rider Takes On Challenging Trail At Night
For many riders, the dark months of late fall into winter mean the end of riding season. Not for Rémy Métailler though.
Watch him ride an incredibly technical rock slab at night.
In this video, Rémy rides Gouranga, one of the features rowdy enough to be featured in the Tour de Gnar, on a wet night. See the segment below.
This feature is gnarly at noon on a dry summer day. At night in the rain, it is simply insane. Métailler is crazy for this one.
For those who do not ride at night, the depth perception is way worse than in the daytime. It is inadvisable to ride big features unless you know them very well.
Clearly, Rémy knows this trail like the back of his hand. Though he may seem crazy, he is actually incredibly analytical about his risk.

Based on his interviews and YouTube videos he is far more rational and logical than many riders. To be as successful as he is, it requires a lot of calculation about when to send and when to hold back. Without good risk tolerance, someone doing what Rémy does would take themself out pretty quickly.
