Pedro Henrique
Brazilian gospel singer Pedro Henrique has passed away after a tragic medical emergency on stage during a recent performance. The musical artist was 30 years old.
According to TMZ, Henrique was delivering a show last night, Wednesday, Dec. 13, before collapsing to the floor on stage.
The incident happened during a religious event in Brazil. He was reportedly unconscious after the fall, and ended up passing away, with his record label Todah Music confirming he suffered a massive heart attack.
Video footage taken by an event attendee show the harrowing moment of the on-stage health crisis at the function.
In the recording, Pedro can be seen on the edge of the stage interacting with the crowd and singing the song "Vai Ser T?o Lindo," when he appears to lose his balance, suddenly falling backward in front of his band onto the floor.
Following the collapse, several people rushed over in an attempt to assist, as the horrified crowd watched the tragedy take place in real-time. After being rushed to a nearby medical clinic, he was pronounced dead.
Todah Music announced Henrique’s death in an Instagram post, writing, “There are very difficult situations in life for which we have no explanation. We just need to understand that God’s will prevails!”
“Pedro was a happy young man, a friend to everyone. Only child. A present husband and a super dedicated father," the post, which was translated into English, continued.
The heartfelt tribute added: "We believe that Pedro will have a prominent place in the great Celestial Choir! Maybe soloing ‘The Cross was for me’… or reminding us that God will honor our descendants! The songs in your voice will not die and your legacy will remain through your wife, your little daughter Zoe and so many lives that were and will be reached by Christ through the records of your voice!”
Henrique rose to prominence after beginning to share singing videos on YouTube. His first album, released in 2017, was called Grande é o Senhor. He also grew an immense following on social media, boasting over 1.1 million Instagram followers prior to his passing.
He also recently became a first-time dad.
As mentioned in the tribute, Pedro is survived by his wife and one-month-old daughter, Zoe.
