Glossier opens mega-mansion store in NYC — but you can shop the millennial beauty brand online right now
It’s probably safe to say that Glossier has changed the way millennials shop for beauty products, including the in-store experience.
The masterminds behind the brand, including founder Emily Weiss, have shown off their design skills with a pop-up store in Chicago, a showroom in New York City, and a cafe in San Francisco, but now Glossier has committed to something more permanent — a mega-mansion flagship in downtown New York City that opens Nov. 8.
The two-story flagship is curated to turn the feeling of Glossier into a physical space. That’s a tall order, but Glossier’s ultra-recognizable colors and design really do translate in the photos of the brand-new store. Take the flight of already Insta-famous pink stairs leading up a millennial pink hallway and you’ll find yourself feeling like you’re inside the mind of a Milky Jelly Cleanser ($18) or a Skin Tint ($26). In a nostalgic touch, the flagship is housed at 123 Lafayette St. — the same building where Weiss’s Into the Gloss beauty blog and Glossier showroom first launched.
The new store features restroom spaces where customers can test out cleansers, ample selfie mirrors, and something that’s been nicknamed “the Boy Brow Room,” where customers can take photos with life-size tubes of the brand’s bestselling tinted eyebrow gel. Most important, the store will sell the full line of Glossier products.
The store opens today in NYC, but for those who can’t trek to the Big Apple just for an (albeit glorious) selfie and shopping op, you can still shop the products online. Check out photos of the Glossier store and shop our favorites from the brand.
